Job Purpose and Impact

The SEM and Quality in Design (QID) Manager is a critical member of the business and the leadership team, responsible to provide food safety, quality and regulatory leadership for the proteins operations. In this role, you will partner closely with R&D in the execution of technology plans and build food safety in design; translate with R&D the innovative solutions from line trial to commercial production;  drive alignment on strategy and processes and drive continuous improvement across the region  in this area and with the local leadership on corporate policies and procedures.

Key Accountabilities

Ensure risk assessment is completed prior project execution; robust sampling plans are in place with new projects to minimize the risk; and FSQR is represented in all key projects from the beginning. Support project team and ensure their processes are best practices; and monitor, measure, assess, continuously improve, and update processes.
Lead talent management, performance management and leadership development of employees in its coverage and identify current and future resourcing needs and develop plan to ensure talent pipeline with high performing, engaged talent.
Analyze, review, interpret and implement policies, and procedures, regulations and customer and supplier standards for new products / processes in a standardized way to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, policies and procedures.
Build partnerships with leadership and key stakeholders to manage and ensure change is assessed, documented and approved in the management of change.
Assist in the creation and development of plans to deliver results for the enterprise in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals
Perform prevention activities and issue resolution and ensure connectivity and collaboration to ensure that Cargill product safety and quality standards are applied during the entire project, from its design to implementation
Lead and develop a team, coach and make decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions. Manage and improve performance; and provide feedback to FSQR team and leadership team on QID performance.



Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Experience in the areas of food safety, quality assurance and regulatory affairs
Risk Management Skills
Minimum of three years of related work experience
Other minimum qualifications may apply


Three years of supervisory experience
Experience with product, food safety, quality and regulatory practices and systems
Experience driving continuous improvement and proficiency in food regulations including retail or on shelf product categories
Confirmed experience in designing strategy for food safety, quality and regulatory compliance
